Richard O'Loughlin

Richard is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).  Richard recently commenced private practice at One 82 Consulting having previously worked as a Psychologist for 30 years in a variety of clinical and management roles in both the public sector and non-government organisations. 

 

With a nonjudgmental attitude, Richard takes an eclectic, evidence based, collaborative partnership approach, utilising techniques and principles from a variety of evidence based approaches including Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in providing psychological interventions and therapeutic support to young people and adults who present with a range of mental health concerns including anxiety and depression.  

 

Richard’s extensive experience over the past 30 years includes: working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, working with people with a disability - including people with complex needs, providing counselling and therapeutic support to carers - recognising their critical role in our community and working with Aboriginal people, their families and communities. 

 

Richard can provide services under Medicare and major health funds and while not a NDIS registered provider, he can also provide services to those whose NDIS funds are either plan managed or self-managed.

 

Being a credentialed and AHPRA registered clinical supervisor, Richard is open to negotiation regarding the provision of consultative support and formal or informal supervision (potentially including professional staff and practitioners who are not Psychologists).
